Our name—Thistle and Bee—tells our story. Thistles are weeds with razor-sharp stems and leaves. They grow in abandoned fields and vacant lots and will push through asphalt to survive. But from such unlikely beginnings, soft beautiful flowers emerge.
Honeybees are vital to the health and sustainability of our eco-systems. The worker bees are all female and they live and work together in communities called hives. A bee separated from the hive will die; they need each other to survive.
At Thistle and Bee we believe that hidden within what looks to be broken, lost, or damaged is something of irreplaceable value and incomparable beauty. In community, women learn to thrive.
